The Town of Chincoteague places the entire island in a Special Flood Hazard Area and requires two feet of freeboard above base flood elevation on new and substantially improved structures. For electrical that is not paperwork, it is where the panel, the meter, the disconnects and the outlets are allowed to live, and it means elevated homes with long service risers and wiring under the house.
